501(c)(3), EIN, & BUSINESS LICENSE

Q: What’s the difference between the standalone and full 501(c)(3) packages?

A: Standalone includes only the IRS filing. The full package includes EIN + business license + IRS filing.

Q: Can you file the paperwork for me?

A: Yes — we handle the entire process for all nonprofit packages.

Q: Do I have to live in the U.S. to get a 501(c)(3)?

A: No — but your organization must be based in the U.S. and have a U.S. address.

Q: Which 501(c)(3) form should I apply for — EZ or Long Form?

A: Most small to mid-sized nonprofits qualify for the EZ Form. It’s faster and cheaper. Choose the Long Form only if:

  • Your projected revenue is over $50,000/year
  • You expect government grants
  • You’re forming a hospital, school, or large foundation

Examples of organizations that qualify for the EZ Form:

  • Local food pantries
  • Youth mentoring programs
  • Small arts or literacy nonprofits
  • Online support groups or advocacy orgs
  • Small community-based charities

If you’re unsure, we’ll help you figure it out during intake.
